ABOUT US
We are a physician couple who had been working in academic medicine. Following a specific call to cross-cultural mission service and completion of a discernment process in our home church and diocese (Church of the Advent, Cincinnati, OH in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio), we were accepted as missionaries by the Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders and were assigned to work with la Iglesia Episcopal Dominicana. After attending language school in Costa Rica, we arrived in the city of San Pedro de Macorís the beginning of May, 2000. We both grew up in Ohio (Anita a Methodist in Westerville and Michael an Episcopalian in Middletown). We met in the cafeteria of the old Cincinnati General Hospital during Anita's senior year in college when she was doing a research elective at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where Michael was a first-year medical student. We have four lovely daughters whose ages ranged from 4 to 14 years when we left for the mission field. Our assignment has been at Clínica Episcopal Esperanza y Caridad in the city of San Pedro de Macorís on the southeastern Caribbean coast of the Dominican Republic. Find photos, videos, articles and other materials related to our work under the "Media" page. Anita's Day
